Info from Eugene: “I was commissioned to design frames for the “Concert for Sandy Relief” for juniper jones studios. I was given a lot of creative range but I had to show case the artist that were going to be performing that night in my designs. I really enjoyed this project because I knew that I was designing for a good cause.”

Artist: Handel Eugene Info from Eugene: “This was a self initiated project that came to me from a song, I heard the lyrics and wanted to interpret the words through imagery design. The phrase in the song was very simple but very powerful “Dark in my Heart”. The artist talks about the burdens that are weighing heavy on his heart. I wanted to capture that one phrase in a design so I came up with the idea of making a heart thats being weighed down by chains & weights. “I wanted to produce a reaction from the viewer so I decide to go with a realistic render of the heart so that the emotion of the song could be shown interpreted in the image. The most challenging part by far was the modeling phase, that took up more than 2/3 of my time on this project. But once I finally go over the hump of getting the model right it all came together fairly quickly from then on. This project was truly rewarding because I really learned how to composite my 3D renders inside of photoshop including all of the passes adding extra lighting details because of all my mattes for the 3D render, this allowed me to have extra control with the final look of the project.”
